I just love to read! For me, it is a way to escape and discover new worlds, to do things you never thought possible, to explore emotions and feelings through words, and I can do it all in the comfort of my imagination. And even though they are not real, I believe the characters you meet in books can change your life and the way you see the world, if you let them.

My Soul to Keep by Rachel Vincent

My Review:

Spoiler Alert!)
Wow. For some reason this book was so much heavier than the other ones even though they all deal with death and losing one’s soul. It was quite the page turner and got so much scarier and darker than I thought it would with all the drug stuff and body possessing going on. This one tugged my at my heart strings because of the way Kaylee and Nash’s relationship shattered based on horrible choices Nash made. I am not sure how they will go on from here but it will take a lot of forgiveness and healing before they can ever get back to the place they were. But I have to wonder if this will not be a good test for their relationship (if they have one in the future) because at times it did seem superficial and Kaylee was never certain about Nash’s feelings for her. I think Kaylee needs to figure out who she is as a Banshee apart from Nash and come into her own as a paranormal being. I am all for reading the next book to find out what happens next!

My Soul To Save by Rachel Vincent

My Review:
I really enjoyed this one! I think this a fun series and different from the normal warewolf/vampire story we have come accustomed to seeing these days on the bookshelves. It’s a world I feel I can learn about with Kaylee which keeps things fresh as she and Nash encounter more danger the deeper they dive into the Netherworld. Kaylee’s internal dialogue makes her relatable because we all talk to ourselves and she cracks me up with her witty comments. And of course who would not love a romance with one of the hottest guys at school but I have to wonder where this relationship is going. To me its not enough that Kaylee happens to be a banshee as well. I need to know there is more to this relationship because it seems odd to me that Nash would stick around considering how different they are in terms of their social lives and the things they like to do. We shall see where this one is going since I fully intend on going to the next book. Overall great pacing, page turner, and just fun!

My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent

Synopsis:
She doesn't see dead people, but…
..She senses when someone near her is about to die.
And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder.
-Literally.
Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school.
But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does.
And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next…

My Review:
I enjoyed this book a lot! I have never read a book about a banshee much less a modern day telling so I found that interesting. There were lots of shockers towards the end and plenty of romance throughout. I am concerned about the main character Kaylee falling for Nash, her love interest, so fast. While she questioned his intentions and wonders how many girls he’s dated, it is more of a fleeting thought and she seems to accept him fully once he reveals what they are. Sorry, but the fact that you are another paranormal being does not make you trust worthy. Nash only knew more about what Kaylee is and not necessarily who she is. But what the heck, I found myself looking forward to all the scenes with Nash in them and I always fall for that romantic aspect. I will for sure be going on to read the other books in the series just to find out what happens to Kaylee and Nash next.
